Corporate Accountability Project and the 180/Movement for Democracy and Education run a series of email mailing lists (formerly devoted to organized around the Democracy Teach-Ins, which were a precursor to the formation of 180/MDE). Currently there are several hundred students, educators, and community activists across North America and around the world participating in the discussions.
Below are descriptions of each list along with a form
to subscribe right now through this website. Please don't neglect to read
the posting guidelines if you plan to subscribe
to the 180-DISCUSS or CORPORATIONS lists. |
CORPORATIONS: This list is for anti-corporate networking and for announcements and discussion pertaining to anti-corporate organizing. It is not restricted specifically to 180/MDE or to the educational system. Expect about 5-8 messages a week.
180-DISCUSS: This list is a forum for sharing information about corporatization of education and how to democratize and de-corporatize the educational system. Expect about 5-8 messages a week.
180-UPDATE: This is a low volume list for periodical announcements and updates relating to 180/MDE.
The 180-DISCUSS and CORPORATIONS lists are set up so that hitting reply
will send your message only to the person whose message you're responding to.
If your response is something appropriate for the whole list and you want the whole list to see it, you must change the "To:"
line of the header appropriately. Messages are inappropriate for these lists if they are... Avoid posting messages with over a dozen recipients listed in the header.
Consider doing such mass mailings using the "Bcc:" (blind carbon
copy) line or send your posting in a separate message, if needed. Avoid excessive quoting (quotes are the text preceded by '>' symbols
that appears in your message when you reply to someone). If you must send
a reply message to the whole list in order to correct something, please
try to quote selective parts of a message you're responding to, when such
quotes are necessary to put your response in context.
